Blackjack Tips
If you’re not quite comfortable yet at the table, don’t sit in the seat that acts last (which is also called “third base”). Because that seat acts last, sometimes other players get upset if you make strange decisions, as they feel that you sometimes took the card that would have caused the dealer to bust and get angry. (Although that belief is based on superstition, they could still get angry however.)
Always make the play that you know is right, even if you’ve busted the last twelve times you’ve hit with 15 versus a dealer 10 showing. It’s easy to get superstitious and remember isolated cases where things worked out, but you should always make the play that basic strategy says is right, as math always beats superstition.
Like any form of gambling, if you’re mad from losing money and steaming, it’s almost always better to take a break and stop playing before you start increasing your bet and playing too recklessly. The games will always be there so don’t hesitate to take a break if you’re mad and wait until you’re in a better mood to play.
It’s true of all forms of gambling, but try not to ever wager more than you’re comfortable losing, as there’s always a chance of losing it all when you’re gambling. Winning money is nice, but every session can’t be a winning one, so it’s best if you only gamble with money that you’d be comfortable with losing all of. You can also try the Odds Calculator to learn more about statistics in various card games or try to practice choosing one of the online casino.
